According to my insurance agent, BCBS has "shut down" due to a crash that occurred while trying to change plans during enrollment. Because of this crash, my family and I have been unable to register for new insurance plans before the 2016 deadline. On hold now for 57 minutes to correct their billing error. This company is a joke. UPDATE... now 68 minutes and got a customer service rep. She said that I was correct and that she would transfer me to billing. hen the line went dead. *** em. I'll wait until they screw up a few more times and then I will sue them in small claims court. Tried for two months to get my policy straight with dropping someone. After finally getting through after endless hours of wait time I am finally able to pay the regular premium the lady says......sike!! As of January 1, 2016, my wife was no longer a subscriber - so said their computer. We hadn't yet gotten a bill for the January premium, and their website didn't show any amount due, so it can't have been cancellation for non-payment. I went to modify my policy, which I expected to be able to do easily enough online. The website is totally ineffective and inoperable, so I waited until bankers hours and called on Monday, waited an hour and 45 minutes to have a rep say they didn't have time for me and promise to have someone return the call FRIDAY or the next MONDAY or TUESDAY! I just got off the phone with one of their representatives and they were extremely rude to me and gave me attitude when I was trying to express the extent I had gone through to try and pay my bill. I have been calling and because of the high volume of calls, have not been able to get through and have waited hours to speak with someone. Currently Blue Cross Blue Shield is denying my wife coverage of a necessary surgery that could keep her out of a wheelchair in the future. Their initial reasoning has the surgery not necessary. I had paid for a policy to begin on 1/1/16. Premium was paid on 12/15/15. Only to find they cancelled my policy for non payment. Really, if you checked your records you would find my payments. Thank God they did not have me hooked up to bank draft. I have new insurance now not with this company anymore. I talked to my Visa company and they will issue me a refund for my premium payment. I went to Mash urgent care on Saturday Jan 9th because I have had a fever of ~103/104F for 5 days as well as starting to develop a cough. I was told to just take ibuprofen and Tylenol. 24 hrs take, I went to another urgent care and was diagnosed with pneumonia because they gave me a check x-ray.
